Spring is here, bringing shifts in weather, energy, and our bodies. You may already notice the signs—feeling lighter yet scattered, stressed, experiencing dry skin, seasonal allergies, or digestive discomforts like bloating, gas, or nausea.
In Ayurveda, spring is considered Vata season, when the air element dominates. If left unbalanced, Vata can create chaos in body and mind—but the good news is, food and lifestyle practices can restore harmony.

👩🍳 About Me
I’ve been practicing Ayurveda since 2011, and it has completely transformed my life. Through Ayurvedic food, treatments, rituals, herbs, yoga, and meditation, I’ve healed from chronic fatigue, chronic pain, anxiety, and depression. This timeless wisdom is now the foundation of my daily health routine and my greatest passion to share.
🌿 What is Ayurveda?
Ayur = life | Veda = knowledge
Ayurveda is the science of life and the sister science to yoga. For over 5,000 years, this holistic system has helped people eliminate the root causes of imbalance, rather than just treat symptoms. Recognised by the World Health Organisation, Ayurveda uses food, herbs, and lifestyle practices to restore your body’s natural intelligence and healing capacity.
Join me to welcome spring with balance, nourishment, and the healing wisdom of Ayurveda.

As food nourishes your body, sacred sound feeds your soul.
For thousands of years the sages of ancient India have known of the spiritual science of sound, mantra yoga and Ayurveda and have passed on this wisdom to us in an unbroken lineage of the Vedic tradition.
The repetition of Sanskrit syllables and simple, yet inspired melodies invoke powerful healing vibrations that restore peace, harmony and vitality to our inner being and outer worlds, awakening us to the great spirit of love.
Café Mantra Music is created especially for relaxation, meditation and yoga. A beautiful blend of sacred chants, chilled beats and flowing melodies that drift over harmonium and tanpuri drones with deep hypnotic rhythms. Long continuous tracks paced at 60bpm (resting heart rate) infuse you with nourishing calming vibrations. This tempo naturally soothes your mind and nervous system without effort, giving you profound rest and rejuvenation.
Love It! Beautiful, spiritual and tranquil music to practice yoga to or just chill out.
I feel like my entire being received the most phenomenal tune up. It was a full body experience to meditate, listen and chant with Jo.
I love the way Jo explains of the science and health benefits behind Ayurvedic nutrition. And her recipes are delicious!

Award-Winning Songwriter, Author, Teacher, Ayurvedic Practitioner.
I'm an award-winning songwriter, professional musician, teacher and Ayurvedic Practitioner.
After suffering a breakdown from alcoholism, I transformed my life through music, yoga and Ayurveda. It was in India where my true musical heart was inspired with the healing sounds, exotic instruments and classical ragas that touched me so deeply, I recorded a range of albums for yoga and meditation.
While in India, I also discovered the healing science of Ayurveda and later studied with Dr. S. Ajit, AIAS. This set me on the path to healing myself of chronic fatigue, chronic pain, anxiety and depression.
I've recorded ten albums under my brand Cafe Mantra, authored my first Ayurvedic cookbook and teach harmonium, chanting and Indian classical singing.
I travel Australia and abroad to yoga festivals, yoga retreats and conscious music events to share the sound of spirit and the sacred science of mantra and Ayurveda. When I'm not travelling, I teach and consult at my home in West Haven, Mid North Coast NSW.
I've been sober since 2003 and grateful for this beautiful life!
