Radiant Heart Sound Experience
Join me for a deeply relaxing afternoon of sacred music, mantra chanting and sound healing experience.
I'm celebrating my new album Radiant Heart which blends the rich history of Indian classical mantra and soulful original songs. This music is a culmination of my 10 year journey into the heart of sacred mantra that has set my heart free.
I will be singing songs from my album and then I'll introduce you to raga singing. A raga is an Indian classical musical scale that takes the mantra to a deeper level. When you sing these beautiful sounds, your mind easily lets go and you experience inner peace which is your true nature. The deep gentle sounds and hypnotic rhythms infuse you with nourishing and calming vibrations. Rhythms paced at 60 beats per minute (resting heart rate) soothes your mind and nervous system without effort, giving you profound rest and rejuvenation.
Come chant, relax, meditate, go deep and feel the bliss! Then have yummy chai and treats with our lovely likeminded community!

What Is A Raga?
A raga is an Indian classical musical scale that takes mantra to a deeper level. Each raga carries spiritual energy and has a unique sound, quality and action on the mind. You will hear beautiful ragas from the 15th century which destroy impurities in the mind. The power of raga is held within every note and carries the vibrations of mantra deep into your soul.
What Is A Mantra?
Mantra is a Sanskrit word. ‘Man’ means mind and ‘tra’ means to train, so a mantra is a tool that is used to train the mind. Sanskrit is a spiritual language that speaks to your soul. The mantras are sound vibrations containing healing intelligence called prana which is our guiding life force. When we chant, we activate healing energy that soothes the nervous system and focuses the mind.
When thoughts get stuck in a pattern of negativity like worrying about the future or regretting the past, mantra is used to disconnect from those thoughts, away from stress, guiding you back to the present moment of inner peace which is your true nature. Deep within, we are always peaceful and loving. It’s constant thought and emotional patterns, playing the same negativity over and over again, that takes us away from this pure state of peace. Energy flows where your mind goes, so if you are focused on stress, you will feel stressed. If your mind is pointed toward a mantra, you train the mind to relax. When you are relaxed, your mind gains clarity to deal with challenges and wisdom comes forth. When you listen to mantra chanting and make the sound with your own voice, the vibrations are absorbed by your body and enliven every cell. This becomes a self soothing meditation practice that has healing benefits.
Love It! Beautiful, spiritual and tranquil music to practice yoga to or just chill out.
I feel like my entire being received the most phenomenal tune up. It was a full body experience to meditate, listen and chant with Jo.
I love the way Jo explains of the science and health benefits behind Ayurvedic nutrition. And her recipes are delicious!

I'm an award winning songwriter, professional musician, teacher and Ayurvedic Practitioner.
I've been singing all my life, but my true musical heart was untouched until I went to India. I fell in love with the healing sounds, exotic instruments and classical ragas that touched my heart and inspired me to record a range of albums for yoga and meditation.
While in India, I also discovered the healing science of Ayurveda and later studied with Dr. S. Ajit, AIAS. This set me on the path to healing myself of chronic fatigue, chronic pain, anxiety and depression.
I've recorded ten albums under my brand Cafe Mantra, authored my first Ayurvedic cookbook and teach harmonium, chanting and Indian classical singing.
I travel Australia and abroad to yoga festivals, yoga retreats and conscious music events to share the sound of spirit and the sacred science of mantra and Ayurveda. When I'm not travelling, I teach and consult at my home in West Haven, Mid North Coast NSW.
